Each stage is an inventory snapshot: keep earlier items, use consumables, upgrade components, and replace small items as space runs out. Boots, defenses, and late slots can change with the draft.

Our picks, based on how the spells work together.

Chronosphere holds enemies together, allowing Jakiro to lay Macropyre across its trapped targets.

Ravage supplies a broad stun that gives Jakiro a clear opening for Ice Path and Macropyre.

Stampede helps allies reach Jakiro's control zone or escape after he blocks a route with fire.

Shallow Grave can keep Jakiro or a core alive while his lingering damage disrupts the enemy chase.

Fissure and Echo Slam cluster or confine enemies, making Jakiro's line spells easier to land.

Blink escapes Ice Path and Macropyre, while Mana Break can leave the mana-hungry support unable to respond.

Ball Lightning can bypass Jakiro's ground control and quickly punish his immobile backline position.

Meat Hook can drag Jakiro from safe range, and Dismember prevents him from casting a defensive response.

Kraken Shell blocks attack damage and can remove negative effects after enough damage, weakening Jakiro's control sequence.

Viper's magic resistance and stacking slows make it harder for Jakiro to trade, retreat, or reposition for spells.

Jakiro is a hard support who controls fights with long-range slows, stuns, and fire.
Jakiro is a ranged Intelligence hero. Our recommended role is hard support.
Jakiro is a hard support built around controlling space rather than chasing kills. Dual Breath punishes enemies who approach a lane partner, while Ice Path denies predictable movement. In fights, he turns stuns and narrow terrain into an opening for Macropyre.
Stand beside your core instead of directly behind them when opponents threaten a trade. Open with Dual Breath through both heroes when possible, then attack the slowed target. Liquid Fire can pressure a tower or reduce an enemy's attack speed without committing Jakiro's body. Liquid Fire and Liquid Frost share a cooldown before Shard, so choose tower pressure or hero harassment deliberately.
Start from fog or behind sturdier allies and wait for an enemy to enter a route they cannot easily leave. Cast Ice Path across that route, then cover the landing area with Macropyre. Force Staff preserves this spacing or moves a victim back into danger.
Buy Arcane Boots and Force Staff when the team needs mana and flexible saves. Choose Glimmer Cape against focused magical pressure, Lotus Orb against targeted spells, or Guardian Greaves for grouped allies. Aghanim's Scepter is a later luxury, not a substitute for defensive utility.

Aim Dual Breath along an enemy's likely retreat rather than at their current position. The ice slow makes the delayed fire more likely to connect, and the damage over time punishes them for continuing through the lane.

Place Ice Path across a choke point or behind a fleeing enemy before they reach it. The path needs time to extend, so predicting their route creates a stun where they must travel instead of where they already stood.

Cast Macropyre after allies disable enemies or when terrain limits their exits. Units continue taking its effect briefly after leaving, but do not waste the spell on enemies who can immediately escape its line.
| Detail | What it means in your game |
|---|---|
| Dual Breath | Send ice and fire along a path. The ice slows enemies and the delayed fire deals damage over time. |
| Ice Path | Create a line of ice after a short delay. Enemies touching it take damage and are stunned. |
| Liquid Fire | An empowered attack burns an area and slows attacks. Shares a cooldown with Liquid Frost unless upgraded with Shard. |
Jakiro works as a hard support because he offers lane harassment, reliable area control, tower pressure through Liquid Fire, and useful defensive item choices without requiring much farm.
Arcane Boots and Force Staff are reliable early priorities. Add Glimmer Cape, Lotus Orb, Pavise, or Guardian Greaves according to the damage and disables threatening your most important ally.
Begin by watching enemy movement before casting Ice Path. Use Dual Breath to punish a committed approach, save Force Staff for danger, and place Macropyre where allies have already restricted escape routes.
Macropyre covers a wide line with lasting flames and continues affecting units briefly after they leave. Use it with stuns or choke points; mobile enemies can simply leave if no ally holds them in place.
